Sears points. What if they goof up?

I did the "spend 60 on clothes and get 60 in points back" deal. They credited my points while the clothes were shipped and I promptly spent the 60 in points on something else. When my clothes arrived they sent a completely wrong order, now what? If I return the wrong stuff am I on the hook for $60 in points that I already spent?

Yes. If you return the original $60 purchase but have already spent the promotional $60 points then they WILL DEDUCT THE PROMOTIONAL $60 POINTS FROM THE RETURNED ORDER REFUND DOLLAR AMOUNT. Best bet would be to try to do an exchange and not a return. Maybe talk to a manager. I always plan on buying something that will not be returned to avoid this issue. You can return items purchased with the promotional points and get those points back. But not the original purchase. Always, always buy something that won't be returned. No matter what. You own it. I have learned the hard way on many different deal promotions.

I'm just preparing myself to keep a box of clothes I didn't order and don't want. Sears is truly backwards with this situation.

Talk about backwards.

I have two Sears ShopYourWay accounts. I took advantage of purchase $20, get $20 back in points. And also purchase $60, get $60 back in points. All orders placed online with store pickup. I went and picked everything up. Point should show the next day. Well $60 showed the next day on one but not the other. And $20 showed on the other but not the first. Called SYW and they said the problem was the store did not mark the order as "completed". Sure enough the online order status shows "ready for pickup". They said that I need to go into the store and ask them to complete the online pick up. I live too far from the store for a special trip and the points will still require an additional day after that to show. I said "that I would go into the store and pick my stuff up a second time since they do not know that it is completed" They said the store knows it was picked up but not marked complete?????? Anyways the SYW rep has moved this to some other department to get the online order completed. We'll see what happens.

Lol, I'd ask them for a refund telling I changed my mind about picking the order up. I can almost guarantee everything would be marked properly very quickly after that.
... But that's Sears/Kmart, no surprise they are closing even in my boonies - their customer service is absolutely pathetic and almost every single interaction I had to have with them over the past 2 years was a pain of varying degree. They have some special talent to screw things up even in virtually un-screw'able situations LMAO
