Just received an email from Microcenter, they have some pretty good deals in celebration of the President's day:
AMD Ryzen 7 1700X AM4 CPU: $250 (Can buy with a mobo to get $30 off bundle sale)
http://www.microcenter.com/produc..._Processor
I got mine during BF for only $240, but $250 is also a very good deal
The also have:
AMD Ryzen 7 1700 AM4 : $230
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AM4: $170
Intel Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake 3.7 GHz LGA 1151 Boxed Processor: $330

I still prefer the intel 8th gen, benchmark numbers are better and more core doesn't mean better peformance. Of course, the price makes more sense for Ryzens since it's much cheaper than intel.

For games sure. For productivity Ryzen's got intel beat atm. Depends on what you're using it for. Neither one has "bad" in game performance anyway.

That's right. I'm focused on video editing PC. But both are very good with no doubt
