Its not especially not for a name brand device. Most of these with the usb ports by themselves retail for upwards of $20+ and usually don't have this high of a Joules rating (600-900). That being said I am in for at least one myself, would love more though.

If you dont need all the ports you can just get the amazon basic one which has 3 outlets and 2 usb's $9.99.

This minus 2 USB charging port was $6.56 couple of days back.. Over $6 for 2 USB port seems high to me.

I actually use a pair of these for my garage doors. Mainly I wanted the USB to power a pair of Z-wave motion sensors.

The only thing is make sure you have space around the outlet.

One reviewer says the USB ports TOTAL 2.4 amps. Not much for today's devices but may be depending on your use. I don't see a watt rating. Just something to consider if you think you're charging two smartphones/tablets simultaneously at full speed or at all.

The deal has expired, but the version without the USB ports was $6.19 couple weeks back.

Also consider that the AC outlets are on the side so that you're able to slide furniture right up against the surge protector. But the USB ports kinda bone that. Just something to keep in mind and will depend on your application.

What if you connect a smaller surge protector into a larger surge protector? Do you get twice the protection?

I have seen the amazon one go cheaper by a few bucks, overall even at normal price its very well priced. So if you need one right away I would not hesitate to get one.

Sweet. I bought this 3-outlet Belkin [amazon.com] last year for $11.99 but I now need more outlets.

Also, I had a $10 credit in my account from that Discover promo so my net cost was $3.51 (plus a $1 no-rush credit).

I feel like these things are a higher fire risk than a normal power strip.
