Also, FYI:

CONFIRMED!!! I just bought this and once activated on Steam, it comes up as the Remastered version...YAY!

If I already own Rocksmith 2014, do I need to buy Remastered?
Nope! It's the same core software, and the updates it offers will be supplied to existing players through a free patch

Are there any new songs in Remastered?
The core song library that comes with the main software remains the same as Rocksmith 2014 Edition. As an incentive for new players, a voucher with codes for six bonus DLC songs will come with physical copies of Rocksmith 2014 Edition Remastered at retail; players will redeem these codes via an online connection to obtain the bonus songs. However, these songs will also be made available for purchase as DLC for existing players, so no songs will be available exclusively through Remastered.

Those six bonus DLC songs are:
· Bob Marley & The Wailers – Three Little Birds
· Elvis Presley – Suspicious Minds
· FUN. – Some Nights
· Jackson 5 – I Want You Back
· Outkast – Hey Ya!
· Train – Drops Of Jupiter

Something about shipping costs for a digital game and physical cable might increase the price lots depending on where one lives.

I'm not sure if the PS4/XB1 cable works, but if so then I'd check Gamestops in the area.

The cable from Xbox 360 works for me on PC with standard Rocksmith and 2014 Remastered. This is the non-remastered 2014 version, correct? I would think the cable would work on this as well.

If I have this for PS3, is there a reason for getting it on PC? Is the PC lag not as big an issue or something?

Second that. Lag on PS3 was too much for me. Slowly became frustrated enough to stop playing.

Or does it depend on the PC?

The lag on all versions has to do with your sound system, not the console or PC. Almost every surround sound system and TV speakers will have some audio lag because they're not built with instruments in mind. You can most likely eliminate your lag on PS3 with some workarounds. I'm not sure about PS3 but when I played on 360, I would use HDMI to the TV for video. Then I would use the analog audio out from the component cables and use an RCA to 3.5mm adapter and plug it into either my amp or some PC speakers.

Now I play from my laptop. The laptop speakers are lag free but obviously subpar for sound, so I either plug in some headphones or plug my Bluetooth speaker in with an aux cable. You'll have way more and easier options to eliminate lag on PC. But the biggest reason to get the PC version: it's super easy to add custom songs.

You can test your PC speaker setup for lag before you purchase with some free programs. If it plays well through this, then the game will work fine too:

My reason is CDLC.
