To me it's just a mid level phone with mid level specs. Even them $99 zte zmax pro/blade z etc etc keep up with this thing and with a 6 inch screen to boot. It's a decent phone don't get me wrong, but for the same price id rather get a true flagship from last year eg LG V20 Galaxy S7, whatever one plus had last year etc. Something with an 820/21 snapdragon soc instead of gimmicked octo socs that will never actually use more than 4 cores...and that'll even be rare. 3gb ram in 2018? Pass

As of February 7th all phones sold with an amazon lock screen ad are updated to get rid of the lock screen ads. Now you just have amazon widgets that you can get rid of.

The biggest issue with this phone is it only has 16gb free and the microsd doesn't expand internal storage...it may be fixed with Oreo...I want to get one for my mom, but Don't need storage hassles

The real question is about the boot loader. Amazon is getting rid of the ads, but no word yet that I saw about them unlocking the boot loader for rooting.

Any thoughts? Since now folks don't have to worry about ads on lockscreen & apps can be disabled.

I'd rather just wait a month and get a new Moto G6 that's coming out. Latest android, new CPU chip, better hardware all around, etc. It will be announced next week. I've get really good sauces. The most reliable sauces you've ever seen.
Do u know off hand what the price will be?

I have this phone and I love it. I am not a big app user and I really need it for calls and some i-net browsing. A few apps that I use work perfectly and take less than a gig of space, so storage is not a problem for me. Phone is really fast, I really like the camera too, wide lens switch works well, nice selfies with post-processing.
First phone I have got from Amazon had an issue, blacked out and did not react to anything at all. After two days (when return was requested) I connected it to the charger and it woke up. I guess something happened and it froze in half-on state, then battery depleted and it restarted. But I have got another one through Google and I still love it.

i read the g6 will be 250 and the g6 plus will be 330. i assume that's for the base models.

the g6 plus will be available in 3, 4, or 6 gb of ram and 32 or 64 gb of storage. i'm guessing for 6gb of ram and 64gb of storage, you're probably looking at $400 or even $500.
