Any idea if it would be shipped double-boxed like from LEGO S@H?

$800 for a real-life low-poly model?? What's with the obsession with pre-designed lego models?? I mean, the whole point of lego originally is that it lets you use lots of uniform bricks to build whatever you want, and to be creative. These sets are just like paint-by-numbers sets, with purpose built pieces, and all you do is follow the instructions. No creativity. And after all that mindless assembly work, and all that money, all you've got is a really crummy looking model! You'd have been better off getting an actual vacuum molded model that doesn't look like it's made from a 3 year olds toy bin when complete!

There's seriously got to be some sort of psychosis among people buying this stuff.

I honestly thought this was a typo so I had to click to see if it truly is $800. I can't criticize the diehard lego fans that would buy this, but over 7000 PIECES!?! - bless your patient hearts!

I wouldn't spend this kinda cash on Lego but I find peace and enjoyment putting a set together. I imagine this set providing that and more for those that feel the same way. Definitely worth it for them and collectors. If you see Lego as just some toys then this wouldn't be worth it.

That's the same with puzzles that have 100s to 1,000's of pieces yet people still do it for the enjoyment. A lot can be said for other things.

You guys used to annoy me, but honestly I'm just impressed that someone manages to crap on this (and Lego in general) in EVERY. SINGLE. THREAD.

But they are right! Eventually they will crack your fragile eggshell and you will wake up to the reality that MSRP LEGOs are a scam and have no business on Slickdeals.

Now Walmart and Target clearance Legos that's a whole nother story.

Except they are in those threads too complaining about even sales prices, how Lego are kid toys and should be dirt cheap, should still be the same price as they were in the 80's, and constant "back in my day we just had rectangles and had to use our imagination" (groan), etc etc.

But I agree usually I wait to buy until well below MSRP or even clearance. Unfortunately I doubt the UCS Falcon will ever be below MSRP, at least for the foreseeable future. It is their large halo product and has already been excluded from every sale and deal to date. Couple that with the limited availability vs demand and there really is no reason to ever drop the price.

Imagine spending $800 on a nice upper and lower of an AR15 that you can then assemble much quicker than this Lego thing.
