This is not the Android One (Project Fi) version of the Moto X4. This is just the regular unlocked model that Motorola and some other retailers sell.

I saw a post from XDA to flash Android One firmware. I don't know if that will make your X4 Android One or it comes with some quirks

I hope people waste their money on Amazon alexa infested one to save $20. It's the same phone, right? Amazon version $249?

Wait wait wait... this also says
Amazon Alexa built in...
Is it identical to what Amazon is selling as Prime exclusive?!

Since Amazon got rid of their lockscreen ads, both of these versions are a bit more similar. However, there are still some differences. First, Amazon's version still comes with Amazon's pre-loaded apps. This version (regular unlocked) just comes with Alexa. Secondly, software updates between the two are still different. The unlocked model got Oreo around January 24. Amazon's unlocked X4 started receiving it on February 15th. Not a huge difference, but a difference nonetheless. On the other end, the Android One variant received Oreo near the end of December.

And how about the bootloader unlock for those who want to REALLY own their phone? Amazon doesn't allow it for any of the Prime phones.

I just looked around and supposedly Amazon's version is locked down.

The question, is this phone considered the Amazon version. It has Alexa on it but it doesn't seem to be the prime specific one. If so, then perhaps it is bootloader unlockable?

To clarify: Amazon's version is likely only through Amazon. Their bootloader is always (ALWAYS) locked, even with the new change in the software they made. The change was only to reduce/remove the ads.

This version should be unlockable without issue directly from Motorola. I was pointing out that the $20 is worth it for this one. Many people won't realize until it's too late.

Bought this same deal for $315 on November 22nd, 92 days ago. My cards price protection is good for 90 days...

I really like the phone. Compact by todays standards. Not the fastest phone, but doesn't feel slow either if that makes sense. The blue glass/metal look is really nice, but I would recommend a case because it's kinda slippery.

It sure is! I would not be inclined to carry this around bare. FWIW this is the case that I went with and it works well; minimal bulk, nice texture without being sticky, slight raised edges to protect the screen and camera. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B072N3WT4J

I've been limping along with a Galaxy S3 that I've owned since launch and washed a few years ago. The mics don't work(use a bluetooth ear piece), it runs super slow, and randomly restarts. Everyone has been hounding me to get something new and I finally broke down and bought one of these. Thanks

Does anyone know if the 64gb version will be coming to the US. This is the phone I want but I would really rather wait for the 64gb version as I want this phone to last me 5 years like my note 3 did

Mother-in-law has this phone to replace a nexus 5x device on fi. She loves it. Way more than the nexus. Gestures work better than on my old Moto X Pure. Battery life is very good. Never tried alexa or Google assistant on this.
