Just picked this up for the year of service. This phone only has 8 GB but still gets a respectable reviews at amazon and 3.5 stars. The same year costs over $100 at Tracfone. Once I activate - I will transfer the number and time to a much nicer tracfone I own that I just let expire.

With or without phone this is a great deal for the year at under $5 a month and you can buy extra minutes anytime...

This deal is not slick at all. The included phone is the original Rebel which is fairly dated.

A much better deal is the one at HSN where you can get the new Rebel 3 with 1 year service and 1500 minutes for $59.95: https://slickdeals.net/f/11255003-16gb-lg-rebel-3-android-tracfone-with-1-yr-1500-min-text-data-for-59-95

"Yes, you can transfer the minutes and phone number into your new TracFone by going to the TracFone main page and clicking on the "Activate/Reactivate Phone" button. Then, select the option that you need (phone, SIM, or Bring Your Own PhoneCDMA).... " I have done it before... and you can also swap sims from a tracfone to another tracfone, as I have done several times.

Why not just go to TING instead?

My understanding is the best way to do this is to transfer your current tracfone and number to the new LG phone.
If you don't like the phone, you can transfer everything back to the old phone a few days later.

People recommend opening a chat with Tracfones customer service and have them tell you the minutes, texts, etc you have left on your original phone before you make the transfer. Save the chat.
This is in case they are lost in the transfer to the new phone. It's rare but it happens.

Check howardforums or read old posts on slickdeals for details.

Welcome. Yes, there are definitely a few spots in the process to be very careful. I found it challenging to save the chat myself. There's a way to email the chat to yourself from the chat page. I had to do that 2x for it to actually email. It took a while.....maybe 10-20 minutes....to receive the email.
You may want to wait until you receive the email before making the transfer.

My service doesn't expire for another couple months too. Can I buy this LG phone on ebay and activate it then? Or do I have to activate it now?
