DeWalt = Very excellent products that last a lifetime and excellent prices.

I will say though, I'd diffidently pick the DEWALT DWP611PK over the old router on sale here. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just heavier, not as easy to handle, not as agile. I like how the newer one plunges a lot better.. but you do get a bit more power and the product itself regardless of age is still an amazing router. I think if I had no plans on plunging or was going to use it on a table as a permament fixture.. I'd get it, otherwise get the newer one. And yeah you totally can plunge with the one on sale here, it's just smaller really does equate to a lot easier to handle.

IMHO if you are going to spend $300+ on a miter go with a 12". Its better to have it and never need it than need it and not have it.

12" sliding miters are huge. Heck, even these 10" sliders are pretty big.. but you're not likely to encounter something a 10" slider can't handle.

Ditto. The right tools for the right job, plus 10" blades are way cheaper.

They are huge but but then on rolling stand and then you have flexibility to move in/out or tuck it away when you don't need it..

SOB. I just bought the 12" DWS779 a couple weeks ago for the same price from Home Depot. I would have preferred getting the smaller one here.

You know, I thought the same thing. I recently replaced my old Makita 10" slider with the 12" Dewalt DWS779 (a recent slickdeal) and the footprint / depth change was negligible.

That being said, more modern 10" saws might be more compact than the one I replaced!

Either way, if you are eying up any of these deals, keep in mind that for those of us in the Midwest, Home Depot matches Menards 11% rebate program which is running again now.

Home depots prices are generally similar to Amazon in many cases, and since Amazon charges sales tax, that is a wash anyways.

Yep. That's one of the biggest factors.
