Looks like a well designed bag. Similar in looks to a thinktank. I'm not seeing a quick-access method, though? There's the one on top, but that wouldn't be very easy to use to get to your camera with the bag still on at least one shoulder. Do like that it has a laptop compartment.

You're correct. I have had mine for about two years now and it has held up. It's been great to travel with. My only complaint is zipper pull quality and the lack of a water bottle holder (obviously not necessary but it would be a nice to have).

How's the padding on the bottom of the bag, sides and top? Can you plop this bag down without worrying about your equipment?

I can't give you exact measurements, but it's pretty sturdy, solid, and thick.

You get extra protection on the top due to the grab handle. The sides can have more protection due to the small bottom side pocket and or tripod. The bottom I'd say is the least protected, but you still have both the exterior padding as well as padding from the interior dividers. The back of the back (the side touching your back when wearing it) is extremely padded.

And yep, I think you can plop it down without being uber gentle.

This description is lousy. Are those dimensions internal or external? Trying to fit a d500/sigma 150-600 sport with the hood forward

Unfortunately, it looks too small for my needs cause I am looking for a good backpack for my gear. But if you did want to see this one, it's in stock at Fry's. But I have tried to get them to price match Adarama before and they wouldn't do it.

Good case but the thing that was really weird for a while is the zipper to open the case is on the back. That is, you cannot open the pack from the front. You flip it over, where the straps are. That said, it's a quality case and works well. It's simple, not gaudy, and fits a ton of gear. I think I paid about 125, so this is a very good deal.

The main point of this is a theft deterrent. Side or front quick access panels make it much easier for people to steal your things in areas known for pick pockets, petty theft. So, while not as convenient, it's definitely better for peace of mind in those areas.

I've had mine for 4 years, solid bag back in my DSLR days. After I went mirrorless 3 years ago I sized down to a ONA Bowery. I took all the dividers out and still use this bag as a weekend trip bag, the way it zips open like a suitcase is perfect for clothes and packing cubes.

How big are you looking for? I need it to fit a Nikon D5+70-200 and a few extra lenses and it looks like it'll work out quite well. I guess I'll see when it gets here, but it looks about the same size as a sling pack I have that's a bit smaller but still fits my DSLR, all lenses and the charger or a bottle of water.

Their promo material says "two pro SLRS and some lenses". I assume that means two pro DSLRs, one with a detached lens, the other utilizing the center bit.

I'll report back when mine comes, although I got free shipping so it might be a while.

From the pictures and videos I looked at, it looks like a smaller camera with a lens on takes up the whole depth. Not sure a d5 would fit good. I need a backpack for my video gear so it need to be huge.
