Solid specs, but seems like a fairly average price. There have been deals for the GTX 1070 model for ~$1300, so this should be closer to $1500-$1600 to be a good deal IMO. If you don't want to wait around though this is definitely better than "full price"!

Personally I am not a fan of 17" laptops either - very cumbersome for travel.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah true about the portability. I did buy as a desktop replacement, so it won't be leaving the house much.

Checked with ABT this is price matched, but tax kills it for me. I think Best Buy will honor a price match as well, not sure though.

Because I have limited space for the setup in my bedroom.

With how PC part prices have been it's actually been equal or surprisingly cheaper to by a laptop or a prebuilt. That said you take away the ability to upgrade.

Unless it's 4K display, otherwise, this price is neither bad nor good

that makes sense. 17" screen at home though...at least it's 120hz. fyi it does weigh like 7.5 lbs, almost a gallon of milk

prebuilts on a deal have been cheaper for a few years now. in fact, that alienware desktop the other day was $1150 or something for 8700/16gb/1080gtx/256ssd-1tb

4K was a great idea, but after going through two laptops with scaling issue in Windows. I'm starting to avoid these for now.

Yes that deal is just as good if you don't need to pay sales tax, plus you can add a 3 year warranty for $99. I was thinking about it as warehouse shipping is free, but the tax is 10% where I live.
