Assistance looking for a modern phone deal

55 10 February 23, 2018 at 11:45 AM
Hi folks,

I appologize foremost for being a little unsavvy in the phone space. In August or so of 2017 my iPhone bricked and I've been told it's not repairable, so I have been using an ATT samsung galaxy s5 that is still on android 4.1 or so (it tries to download and update software every so often but it has never actually worked).

This phone gets me through the day to day, but can be frustrating to deal with.

I try to keep my eyes peeled on new phone deals but it seems like i must miss some great ones (I think this week people found a great deal on the s8, but I think it was with t-mobile and i am on ATT.

What I'm looking to find is a modern (hopefully flagshippish.)unlocked Model of phone such as the iphone, or a nice android phone.

Is there other sites or apps people use when looking for new phones or is it solely th rough slickdeals and a bit of luck?

Obviously the slicker the deal the better but I can probably afford around 4-500 dollars or so.

Any general tips are quite welcome!

Thank you,

VP

If you need more than one, you should get a galaxy s8 for free with the but one get one promo. Also, t mobile doesn't charge a "per device connection fee"every month, so you save $20/month off the top and get unlimited data. If you're 55 or over, you can get two lines with unlimited data, calls, and texts for $50/month, plus the two phones which would come out to a total of $80/month for two lines. Pm me if you need details, but anyone hear can tell you tmobile is the best carrier of the big three in the states. Devices, the iphone 7 and 8 are nearly identical and terribly fragile. At least the Samsung head an updated camera.

Finally, if you still want functionality but want to save on the device, go for the pixel 2. Identical specs to the gs8.

If you can wait until May, you'll get the absolute best bang for you buck as apple and Samsung release their new devices (traditionally) and everything else on the market tanks.

I also know a few people personally who still have the extra Samsung 8 from the buy one get one promotion last year, so you might have luck asking around for a discount. In the meantime, pm me for any more information.

Good luck!

(Side question, what region are you from?)

Thank you for such a quick reply!

I'm just in the market for a phone for myself.

I actually had no idea t mobile was so competitive with att and verizon. Reception and everything is pretty similar?

I appreciate all the detail in your post, I'll probably have to read it a few times to set it straight in my head!
