If you haven't try, give the prime ribeye "cap" that they have once a week a try. One of the best cut.

I just paid $19.99 pound for prime filet (tenderloin) at Van Nuys Costco...about $48...no coupon.

FWIW, it was the best steak I've ever had from costco...not sure why...I get mostly prime, and sometimes get the entire untrimmed roasts and butcher myself.

Two things:

1. Many people have said not to waste your money on prime filet...because filet has little fat, it's not worth it. I couldn't disagree more...tastes totally different. Costco choice sort of has a liver flavor, IMHO.

2. Filets are only cuts that aren't blade tenderized. Check out video's on this technique...can cause illness if you serve rare/medium rare which i do. That's why I sometimes get entire sides...cheaper and not blade tenderized like individual steaks are.

Might be a store specific discount to move (old) stock.

Great deal thanks op. Was at the Richmond, CA Costco and deal was alive. 10 dollars off after 19.99 a pound price. A lot of confused people because the sign was written poorly but steaks were on point.
