This is a great price of course if you can use this size, but just a word to the wise, 3-quart slow cookers are really a kind of oddball "in between" size. After stubbornly holding onto one for about 10 years despite barely ever using it, I ended up giving mine to Goodwill when I moved a few years ago rather than bothering to pack it up and move it...

As usual with pots and pans, the capacity is as filled "to the rim", which means the working capacity is really 2.5 quarts max, which is really rather small to cook "meals" in, even for just 2 or 3 people. And on the other hand, it's too big to use for serving gravy, etc on a buffet (and rather small for soup, stew, or anything else). Though come to think of it, it would be a good size for "extra" pasta sauce, if anyone has a frequent enough, specific use for that. Because it's so cheap, I almost pulled the trigger (again), but decided to hold out for a good "deal" on a 2 quart model (mostly to use for stuff like gravy-on-a-buffet). And if I were looking for one big enough to be really useful as a general purpose cooker, or to use for serving on a buffet, I'd hold out for at least a 4 Qt, and probably a 6 Qt model...

Come again?EEK!

That issue has been addressed in the news media as people overreacting ....it's a shame that people are letting a fictional tv show dictate their buying decisions....which is probably causing this company and others to lose money....which is probably why they put this one on sale to begin with. The crockpot in that show was literally decades old....and obviously it didn't actually catch fire on its own...though if you believed it did, then you're beyond reason.

Okay is anyone here being serious, because this isn't the place for really obscure in-jokes that make people waste time trying to understand what the hell you are talking about. And if you are serious, then that's even worse.

Thanks for explaining. I didn't know what the f**k he was taking about. Stupid people believing in a TV show. Similar to those that trust forwarded FB post for their news and not those of real and verifiable news outlets.

Agree with other poster, 3QT is an odd size.

Sold out anyhow.

Yea, what a bunch of idiots. If they're this dumb, it's no wonder why they don't believe when a real tragedy occurs.

I thought I could deal with the 3 quart size but it's just too small especially for soups. Ended up with a six quart and it's much easier to use.
