B&H has the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts in stock for $999.

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...g_hsm.html

B&H has many other Sigma lenses for $50 off regular price plus a USB dock and possibly some Sigma filters when using code BHWPPI18. Credit to Canonrumors:

I added them to the Wiki below.

Amazon has the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Lens for Canon EF for pre-order for $999. Not sure why it is for pre-order.
Amazon generally doesn't charge your credit card until they ship, so if the wait turns out to be too long, you could just cancel. Since they have been in stock with Amazon before, I suspect the wait won't be long.

Can someone tell me what an "art" lens is? And what is an HSM lens?

sony does make a 30 1.4 emount, as well as a 18, 30, and 60 2.8 emount. all are quite good and very good values
Simga is rumored to be releasing its art lenses for the FE mount in near future, with 35 1.4 art rumored to be the first to be released.
There are now some third party FE AF lenses entering the market more, as rokinon has a decent 35 1.4, tokina has announced a 20 f2.0 and tarmon a 28-75 2.8.

They also have excellent TAMRON lenses on sale, including their amazing G2 verions, so why is this focused only on Sigmas? The TAMRONS actually have waaaaay better vibration compensation, especially for use with Video (reducing shaking), whereas the Sigmas perform the worst in that regards.

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/bu...s/ci/38346

And personally I wouldn't buy the Sigma 85/1.4, until you see the reviews for the 105/1.4 they're about to release -- it looks like its going to be an insane lens -- they are probably just trying to get rid of extra 85/1.4s right now:

https://nikonrumors.com/2018/02/2...ore-120113

So unless you really really need the 85/1.4 and can't pass it up, if you're looking for higher quality, you might want to wait til you see what Sigma releases at the show going on now, because this is going to be a surprise winner.

This lens is HUGE (85mm). The Nikon 85 looks puny compared to this.

Yup. This.

With the 1.4 do you really need that image stabilization? Plus this is meant for portrait photography, not many sports or action shooters using this glass, and neither are videographers using this because it doesn't function for those roles.

This isn't a bad lens, many have praised this to be very very capable especially given the price point.

I would jump on this if I weren't thinking about switching systems. Waiting to see what Canon does in terms of mirrorless, if Nikon puts out the d760, or if Sony has more glass coming from 3rd parties. I can't afford $1500 for a 50mm Sony Glass, lol
