With the Panasonic making the front page without installation I thought I'd share what I just bought instead from Best Buy. I thought it was a better deal for me and probably others who are looking for installation included for $300

A materials charge of $5 per vehicle will be assessed at time of installation. Some vehicles may require additional parts costing $10–$50. Manual transmission vehicles may require additional parts or labor costing $70–$120.

I hate deals like this cause with extra harnesses and bkup cameras trim pieces etc you end up pay up the ass especially if you have a newer car. Please don't fall for the 300.00 gimmick. Op works for BB BTW...

Does anyone knows if the installation code that is sent to the email contains personal info like address? Thinking of selling my unit with the installation code

Hmm. That seems cheap, I went in last year for one of these installs and for the harness and stuff for a 2015 Malibu was almost $180...

Well of course. They get you $75 for a $10 dash kit and $50 for a $2 adapter or cable. Doesn't take long. That's where they make their money.

Panasonic was the absolute worst head unit I ever owned, including Kraco, Jensen and Audiovox.

I want to install this for my 2010 Prius. Does the price include all cables, parts etc. for installation OR they are going to charge for each cable/part exorbitant price which will eventually end up costing way more?

Never mind, I read of BestBuy website:

A materials charge of $5 per vehicle will be assessed at time of installation. Some vehicles may require additional parts costing $10–$50. Manual transmission vehicles may require additional parts or labor costing $70–$120.

Your Geek Squad Autotech will provide an estimate prior to performing work that requires an additional charge (including nonstandard installation) and any additional parts. Any additional charges will be assessed after the installation is complete.

Can you bring in your own dash kit, wire harness, steering wheel controls, etc.. ? Prices on Amazon for these parts are pretty reasonable. You can use Crutchfield.com to see what parts are needed.

They still do in Japan but they mostly now make headunits for OEM car makers like Toyota, Nissan and some Honda's.

Hahaha those are still found at Walmart car audio section. In the past JVC was just as bad as Panasonic units. It was until the Kenwood corporation merged with JVC they started making decent units. In my old school audio days of the 90s and early 2000s I loved Eclipse, Alpine and nakamichi head units.
