Why the TD? Except for the base model which went on sale on Microcenter (with tax), none of the other configurations have been discounted $500. Not to mention no taxes outside NY/NJ and possible 5% CB for using Chase Apple Pay.

Am I missing something here?

Those prices would be justified if you could drive in that thing and get around

The only other promotion I had seen for these models were Apple Insider $500 off. Besides that Adorama had $300 for base models. Where else did you see $500 off before?

Do you have the code for $1000 off from Apple insider?

There's no code; instead there's an article on AppleInsider's homepage with instructions on how to get the discount.

Downvotes and negative comments are because people don't realize how much a pro machine really costs and that the equivalent specs for a custom PC would be roughly the same:

https://www.pcgamer.com/apples-new-imac-pro-costs-5000-but-is-it-overpriced/

For example, an equivalent 5K display would be $1300 alone, and not nearly as good. But honestly, this model should be priced at $4500, and is a great deal at $4000.

Excellent machine. Wish I hadn't already maxed out the 1500 for chase. May want to note it's only 5% on what's left of the 1500 max.
