Says brand new on the condition. If it's not you can always return it for being not as described.

Resolution kind of sucks, and you really need at least another 4GB of ram to make it snappy, but the battery life is decent and it has loads of ports. Also even though the listing says 1 year warranty, usually the business line has a 3 year standard warranty; you might get lucky here.

Seems like buying a refurb 14" elitebook 8470p for less than $200 with better specs is a much better deal and eBay is filled with those. I realize it isn't an exact comparison but still.

Apples and Oranges. This item is new not a refurb. This item has a 5th generation I-5 while the ones you quote have a 3rd generation I-5. This has an SSD while the ones you reference have a disk hard drive. Plus USB 3 vs. USB 2. Also this is a touchscreen with pen input.

IMHO, I would avoid an older refurb laptop. The refurbishing is usually limited to cleaning it and installing a fresh copy of windows. The battery could be shot and who knows when the hard drive will break in it. It really is not worth the risk.

Refurbs from the Apple store are fine and well as the refurbs from the Dell outlet.
