It says auto-duplex printing followed by ADF scanning... But is it auto-duplex ADF scanning? If so, great price! Smaller form factor a plus for anyone who is primarily looking for the scan feature.

I did some research and I don't believe this printer offers duplex scanning. Most all-in-one printers that offer duplex scanning tend to be bulkier in size, while this one maintains a low profile. In my case, I don't scan documents that often so I found this to be a perfect printer for my needs.

Apparently no.

I looked through the manuals and didn't find duplex ADF scanning. Then I came across this Amazon customer review [amazon.com] that said it had it, but two comments to that review said he's wrong.

However, I'm thinking that maybe we can run the stack of papers through the ADF twice, and then use a PDF editor (this one [freeoffice.com] is free) to move the pages into correct order.

One answer in the question and answer section on the Best Buy site said you can refill cartridges (maybe special refillable ones?) and use a chip resetter, an advantage for us extra-cheap SDers. Black, Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow.

I have my old Epson R320 Photo printer from 2004 apart right now on the kitchen table. Gotta decide before this goes out of stock.

I have this MFC. To get duplex scans you will have to initiate the scan from Paperport, which is included with the installation disk. The MFC alone does not do automatic duplex scanning.

1. Set up pages to be scanned in tray
2. Open up Paperport
3. In the top ribbon, click 'scan settings'
4. 'Scan or Get Photo' side bar opens
5. Click 'Scan'

6. The MFC will start and complete the scanning of the front pages.
7. Pop-up asks for title, no need to fill as the pop up will come up again after 2nd pass and forget what you entered this time.
8. Do NOT flip the stack like it says. You need to rotate 180 degrees and insert into the feeder.

9. The software will stitch both sides together and you now have a duplex scanned document.

Hope I helped.
