Some shilled post with a referral code again...

If you are not in a hurry and fine with Chinese Big Brother potentially watching you, just wait for Amcrest deal like this one - https://slickdeals.net/f/11178627-amcrest-1080p-wifi-ptz-onvif-security-camera-ip2m-841b-55-99-free-ship - I bought one for $55+tax the last time round from Groupon and this camera is absolutely amazing, especially its night vision! Plus it's much better than this one even based on specs (1080P vs 720P). This alone IMO warrants extra $20.

I have a couple of these. One is plugged into my truck cig lighter outlet. Truck is parked in driveway. Only works during daytime. Nightime reflection in window can not see anything. During day I can see driveway, front yard, downhill. Uses MIPC app on PC and Android. Microphone for listening sucks. Speaker for speaking sucks. I sent one in for warrantee due to down motor not always engaging.

The other is on covered front porch. I can see mailboxes down the hill, chickens and rabbits in side yard, cats on roof across the street about 75 yards down the hill.

They both have USB cable for power and I purchased microSD cards, but have never checked them after installing.

I recently got a Foscam 1080 that looks similar. I have it in the kitchen for testing. I can hear clearly and yell at my dog to get out of the kitchen, so speaker and microphone work well. Does not connect as well when starting Foscam app compared to MIPC. Power plug with transformer so not as convenient as USB.

What is nice about all these units is the ability to move camera and see what is going on anywhere from my phone or Fire Tablet. The ability to hear and speak is a big plus for a baby cam. LeFun sucks at these.

I'd recommend Wyze cams over anything in this price range. https://www.wyzecam.com

While it has an "A" right now, this is a very interesting tidbit: "Our engine has detected that Amazon has deleted and scrubbed reviews from this listing. We approximate total reviews deleted to be 1480."

That is a very high amount of fake reviews that were deleted. Just as Amazon has upped their game in combating fake reviews, the Chinese have improved their fake review game quite a bit, from bribing customers to improving the written quality of reviews.

I wouldn't touch this product with a ten foot pole.

I have 2 outside shielded by the rain and have been working great so far over a year now. Am looking for an outdoor enclosure these can go in to prolong the life of them.

This type will not work at night with glass or plastic in front of it such as an enclosure. The reflection from the LED's will just reflect back blinding the camera. They will work under an eve or front porch as long as no rain water blows on it, or moisture such as fog or morning condensation. Just need to brush off spider webs or dust.

HI Nsiraser,

I would recommend spending the extra $20 for the below Amcrest 1080p camera or the LaView 1080p one which also comes on sale.

1080p = 2.25x the pixels of a 720p camera, and both Amcrest and LaView sell some decent hardware.

Hi Nsiraser,

Do you need a outdoor rated PT ( Pan Tilt ) camera?
Or would a normal fixed outdoor camera work for your needs?

I'm a total noob at this, I'm really just looking for a simple solution that I can put outdoor. Been looking around, not sure which to jump on yet.
