I don't know why we don't see more 3.1 channel soundbars. Dialog really gets lost on 2.1 IMO. That center channel is really important.

Someday there will be heaping piles of soundbars at every thrift store, right next to the pile of Foreman Grills.

At factory default settings, the bass is truly anemic. I have no idea why Samsung set it like that out of the box. But going into the setting and bumping the bass way up, and bumping the treble up just a little too, really brings this sound-bar to life.

I bought this and a similarly priced Vizio 5.1 system and auditioned them both. Returned the Vizio and kept this one. The Vizio had profound amounts of bass for its size, but it was at a really limited bandwidth and very boomy, a one trick pony. The bass in the Samsung is more accurate, musical, loud enough to rattle the light fixtures in my ceiling. Scored a pair of of the wireless surround speakers [amazon.com] for cheap and got a really good 5.1 system for around $250 total. (The surround speakers are set at inexplicably low volume by default, but you can go into the setting and turn them up too.)

I think most of the negative reviews on these things are from people who don't realize you can adjust settings to your liking.

Price is very appealing. Some of reviews saying the subwoofer doesn't have such great punch - anyone have experience with this?

Any soundbar I buy will need to have chromecast or Alexis built-in. This is what I love about some of the Vizio soundbars, which have gotten great reviews.

Totally agree, but there are some (like the newer Polk) that incorporate some sort of phantom channel on the center driver. At the same time, I'm happy with my Polk 2 channel.

What's the point of connecting wirelessly if the bar sits pretty much right next to the TV, I assume going wireless will only lower the sound quality.
Are you referring to the wireless SUB?

Has anyone mounted this to a curved TV? Is it possible?

If it's a Samsung TV, I don't see why you couldn't just use one of these: https://www.samsung.com/us/televi...n300sb-za/

Do not buy this. I have it and the sound is muddy and weak. It is new and Best Buy was unhelpful.

If dialog is important to you then you should try zvox.
