Would be great if MSFT participated in Movies Anywhere. I would be all over this if they were MA. But they aren't, so these movies purchased here are locked in to their store, no Vudu, iTunes, Amazon, etc.

They already got rid of their music store. Who knows how long the video store will be around.

Meh.

Merged with? Movies Anywhere is Disney. And Disney is about to own yet another studio which would make them majority owner of Hulu and they're also coming out with their own separate streaming service. Ridiculous.

These are all Oscar winning films for best picture... Fellowship and two towers did not win

Good deal, but damn, I bought these last year when the were $5 back each. Good way to roll expiring reward money!

EDIT: I see there's many new movies that were not available as part of the sale last year. Anyone have the T&Cs of this offer? the website mentioned (aks.ms/mmtv) doesn't show anything about this promo.

It says "Buy 5 Best Picture winners for $5 each," but the movies are $4.99. hmm...

EDIT 2: limit 1 $25 gift card per account, in the terms. Last year there was no limit. Be aware.

So let me get this straight. I can buy 5 movies and get 25 back. But I can use a GC to pay for the movies and still get the 25 GC?

Some of these show $2.99 instead of $4.99. Anybody test to see if it works as long as you hit the $25 total.

Seems like a pretty a good deal. But not seeing much as far as details. Maybe the deals hasn't gone live quite yet. Would be nice to know if the $25 gift card is right away or when it will come, also when this offer ends. Not showing up on Xbox One either.

They had a similar offer last year and that one worked w/ existing Microsoft credit. Going to wait a bit. Hoping I can find more info about this.

Meh. I did this last year. I'm not sure there was anyone that Microsoft didn't try to screw out of the deal. The thread wasn't super active, but everybody on it was talking about how the links Microsoft sent out didn't work (and my links didn't work out).

I tried talking to support and they gave me the runaround for hours and hours. I was constantly thinking that I was just about to solve the problem. They transferred me from department to department.

I eventually got them to honor the gift certificates, but it was, like, 15 hours or so of customer service hell.

Don't think it's right away. With that book deal, the gc came several weeks later.

They all $4.99 on the product page.

For now...

Disney just folded their streaming services and merged with movies anywhere... Who know if/when msft will.
Thing I don't get/like about movies anywhere is that it doesn't show you the resolution of your movies, and I think movies that are HD in other platforms sometimes only play in SD and their platform.
