HOLY SH** you are absolutely right!!! Reopened the package and search after two year purchased and realized what I have been missing. You are awesome and sorry for my misinformation.

Sony has released the replacement model for this, the MDR-1AM2, so bigger discounts may be coming as they clear these out.

When I bought mine they came with an inline microphone cable and a standard cable.

Great comfortable headphones, my left ear cup sometimes makes a click when I move my jaw (common in some sony models) It's from the plastics rubbing together in the joints - but I've gotten use to it, the pros outweigh that

Are these good for gaming on xbox? Need some for PUBG or Fortnite.

This does not have mic to start with...which I was mistaken. Good for listen to music tho. Sound quality is amazing and very comfortable. Would recommend.

I use these on my PS4 and I love them. It's been awhile since I researched them before I picked them out but I believe they are ideal for controller headphones because they don't require a lot of power. They're also super comfortable pads and I don't get hot like a lot of over the ear headphones.

The ongoing deal of Logitech G430 will suit your need better.

I would be cautious buying from ATHQ

Couple of purchases made for other products from them turned out to be non-US market

Been trying to find the Philips Fidelio X2, but tempted to get these for being half the price. Only concern is I know the bass can be a bit overwhelming. Be curious to hear how they stack up to my MDR-7506, which I love.

If I read the descriptions right on Amazon there are two versions, one International and one US. They're almost identical specwise but the International doesn't come with a Sony warranty. As described on Amazon, the US version is 24ohms and the International is 48ohms. The one on Newegg says 48ohms, so if a warranty is important to you then you might want to confirm.

The Newegg price fits the International. On Amazon it's $174 while the US version is $298.

I have these and love them. They are extremely comfortable. They are definitely not studio headphones where the there is a flat balance between high/med/low. These have a much warmer and bass-heavy tone but I dont find it to be overbearing or muddying. If you mainly use your headphones with a phone or computer these are great and are perfect for day to day use.

Sonu MDR-1AM2 has not been released yet. It still says to be released on their website. That's what i have been waiting for as I am huge fan of this current version of Sony Headphone. One of the best headphone in below $300 range and for this price it's a steal but I am eyeing for newer version as I am sure it has everything improved.
