I would've been all over this had I not recently bought another fight stick. Ah well. Need to curb my impulses. Already have too many fight sticks. This one is beautiful though.

LEDs on the Obsidian have been known to short to grd and occasionaly shock users when in use. Nothing life threatening ofcourse with the low voltage and current but tou can disconnect the LEDs or just remove their trace off the pcb as a work around. Thanks Qanba.

P.S. use usb peripherals on PS4 Pros at your own risk, a lot of Arcade stick pcbs met their fate at the incosistent voltage lvls provided by the PS4 Pros USB ports. To protect your peripherals plug ina powered USB 3.0 hub don these ports for your peripherals to plug in to (-_-)=b

I'm going to treat myself and get this; thank OP.

Price was $149.99 with free 2 day shipping for me. (Showrunner)

What worries me a bit is that the listing states "product is non-returnable and non-refundable."

But since I paid via PayPal which has its own form of Buyer Protection there's a good chance I'm probably covered if there's an issue...

Brand wise how does this compare to Hori?

IMO I prefer Sanwa parts, which this stick has. And then Qanba Obsidian is a hefty case with beautiful looks. Well worth at $200 but at current price I would not hesitate to choose this over Hori.

You won't regret it. 90% of the pros and tournament players use sticks with Sanwa parts. Almost everyone is either using Qanba, Mad Catz or Razer.

The main thing you're paying for in any stick is the case. Size, weight and ease of modding. And honestly there are only two companies right now that make hefty cases with beautiful looks, Razer and Qanba. That's it. You need a meaty case so it doesn't move around when you're playing. Any case that is lightweight and moves around will ruin your game and execution for moves.

And then these newer cases also offer ease for modding. Win-win all around

I do not own this particular fighstick, but I own a Hori RAP 4 Kai and a Razer Panthera, which is comparable to the Qanba Obsidian. The RAP 4 Kai is a fairly good stick, but, so far I like the Panthera more. The sanwa buttons and stick seems stiffer and provides a bit more resistance which help with precision. The Panthera is a bit heavier than the RAP 4 Kai, so I do have to keep readjusting to RAP 4 more often than the Panthera. The biggest annoyance though is the RAP 4's option button is located next to L1 and L2, and I sometimes hit it by accident.

I have the following:
Mad Catz TE sticks from Street Fighter 4 [x2] (Xbox 360/PC)
Mad Catz TE Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Xbox 360/PC)
Hori Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Sanwa parts) [x2] (Xbox 360/PC)
Hori RAP4 v2.0 Hayabusa Parts [x2] (Red and white) (PS4/PS3/PC)
Razer Panthera (PS4/PS3/PC) [Keeping it as backup, I primarily game on the PC and use my other sticks for PC]
Nubytech Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Edition [x2] (PS2, Xbox Original, Dreamcast)
Mad Catz Street Fighter X Tekken PS3 [x2] (PS3)

I prefer the ones with Sanwa parts over the others. Although the RAP4 is very nice, for more serious play I use my Mad Catz as they have Sanwa parts and cases are pretty hefty. Not to mention I added additional weight to the sticks using adhesive tire balancing weights. LINK FOR WEIGHTS [amazon.com]
These weights are amazing! I ordered two boxes. Super sticky adhesive, pretty much permanent adhesive. And 8 strips add 2 pounds of weight to the stick. I used these for all my main sticks that I prefer to play with as I place my sticks on custom table tops in front of the TV. Don't prefer to hold them in lap. The additional weights really give them solid weight and footing so you can play and not move the stick around. I added these to my Hori RAP4 as well (8 strips each, 2 pounds of weight). Makes all the difference.
