Because you don't like their political leanings or some other reason?
If the reason is political that's fine by me. Everybody is entitled to their opinions. I'm just wondering if there is some other reason.

New Yorkers is a fantastic magazine. Articles are long though. I ended up canceling because I couldn't keep up. Really great, in-depth articles though.

It hasn't been available from Reward Survey in years.

Are you sure you aren't confusing it with the similarly named New York magazine? That one is available from Reward Survey. They are very different magazines.

The New Yorker is the best magazine that currently exists, imho.

Usually can find a 3 month subscription on amazon for $5. Factor in the value of the tote bag?

The "cultural elite" might pay top dollar?

But people probably aren't really carrying the bag to make a fashion statement. Its power resides in its ability to telegraph tribal membership. As a symbol, the tote is "more valuable than a fancy handbag, even if the latter costs more and is of greater material value,"

I got The New Yorker free through RS all well. I didn't continue my sub past the 1st year, but not because I hated the mag. Although I thought that it was a little inbred and narcissistic, it's one of the few national magazines out there still publishing original fiction. That used to be one of the main ways that authors got started.

FYI, my library (and many others) offer this for free digitally via "RB Digital". If your library has this program, worth checking if they offer The New Yorker!

This was $5-last month and I subscribed to it. The magazine arrived a couple days ago and it's very-very cheaply made. Like a cheap, free magazine included with a newspapers. No binding, just staples through cheap paper with weak ink.

What was I thinking... Print publications are dead.
It's a weekly magazine, not a glossy monthly. Totally different markets.
