American Airlines have some round trip airfares travelling from Dallas (DFW) to Reykjavik Iceland (KEF) for $389, nonstop. This is a regular economy fare.

Travel Availability:

Departs DFW: Aug 20, 21, 22, 24; Sept 4, 5, 19, 23, 26, 29; Oct 15
Returns: good availability returns but play with dates because it changed a couple of times

Use dates and book it on Priceline [priceline.com] or American Airlines [aa.com]. Priceline will give you alternate dates if they find one cheaper so try that first. Bundling hotel with airfare will save money.

Wow, there are even dates where SWUs availability works. Unfortunately, these are Q fares so you can't upgrade with miles.

I wonder if this is really American Airlines flying to Iceland, or codeshare with WOW or Icelandair. I didn't think American had any actual routes to Iceland.

Good deal. Iceland is a beautiful country and definitely worth a visit. The people there are cool and know how to enjoy life.

American Airlines will be flying to Keflavík (KEF), however.

It's not in Reykjavik though, it's in Keflavik (hence the KEF designation). It's about a 30 minute drive from Reykjavik.

Went in October 2015 and it's one of the best things I've ever done. What an incredible country.

Great. Years ago, no one went to Iceland except as a cheap way to get to Europe as a stopover. Good to see mainstream US airlines now flying there.
