Sony H900N h.ear on 2 noise canceling Bluetooth headphones $229.99 at Costco

Currently $295 at Amazon to compare. This model is a step down from the WH1000XM2 ($348) with only minor differences. The 1000XM2 is more for frequent travelers and the 900N is geared for everyday use. It has 22 hours on full charge and the same touch controls.

There are a few in depth reviews on YouTube and they also compare the two models.

This is also available in stores. I tried the demo unit there and it cancels out the noise very well. Disabling the noise cancellation mode by placing your hand over the ear cup is pretty cool. Thinking of picking this up for a long plane trip.

Picked these up. They're really exceptional. Some reviews indicate that the sound quality is a step above the pricier WH1000XM2. Very comfortable and visually understated.

Thanks; I bought one. Always nice having Costco's return policy to back it up.

I believe the similar Sony MDR-1000X has a frustrating 'feature' -- the headphones will automatically turn off after 5 mins if not connected to an audio source. I think the engineers did this to save on power, but it also means you can't just use the headphones with only the noise cancellation feature. The clunky workaround is to leave a headphone jack attached.

Does anyone know whether this headset suffers from the same problem?

I picked these up but ended up returning them. Sound is good, ANC is good, but the one thing that just bothered me to no end, was the driver flex/popping sounds. They seal the ear well, but the drivers popped when I would chew gum, or just tilt my head from one side to the other.

I got another pair, and it still did the same thing, although to a lesser degree. If you don't care about driver flex, these are a great choice at a great price.

Dammit I didn't even know these existed. I was trying to decide between the 1000XM2 and the 950N1 and now you've brought these and the 700N into the mix. What the hell is the difference!

These are better. Watch YouTube videos for people's reasoning behind that statement.

After having them for a few days...

Very good, natural sound - surprisingly so.

Comfort is good, clamping force is reasonable and the headphones stay on my head very well.

Noise cancelling is quite good. Not sure if it's as good as the Bose QC35 I tried at one of their factory stores a while back, but, it's considerably better than a cheapie noise cancelling headset I tried recently from Monoprice.

I did and it seems like the ANC on these isn't as good as the 1000xm2.

The NC on 1000xm2 is the best of all headphones this one is close.
Some negatives for this one:
1. Does not fold flat
2. Does not come with a hard shell pouch.
3. Slightly weaker ANC compared to top of the line Sony.
4. Heavier.
5. Does not come with airplane adapter.
6. Charge holds for slightly lesser playback time.

Music quality is good (especially for closed cans), however I feel there is a slightly more bias towards bass which perhaps most people would actually appreciate.

This deal is crazy good. Should be FP.

I picked these up last week and have been using them on my daily BART commute, the ANC works well enough to block most of the BART noise. They sound great and the battery life has been exceptional, would recommend in a heartbeat to anyone looking at them

I am looking to get these because the right side of my jbl pair is cutting out. How are they holding up for you? How does the durability seem? I have had two pairs of jbls start cutting out on the right side in 14 months. I need to find a different brand and this is what I have been thinking of.

How does the durability of the the folding parts feel? I suspect that the issue I had with jbl stemmed from the parts that fold.
