Applause It's finally here.

Essentially the Mate SE is the Honor 7x with 4gb RAM/64gb storage.
BHphoto has it for $229 with free ship and no tax in many states.

The 3gb/32gb Honor 7x has been selling crazy on Amazon for $199 (plus tax). The Mate SE is a nice upgrade for very little money (<$20 gets you an extra gig of ram and 32gb storage).

The dimension specs are identical to the Honor 7x. The only visual difference I can spot is no more double circle camera bump (which I hate), and no "Honor" branding.

Quite a bit of phone for the money.

This is a mid-range phone, so here's what is "missing" compared to flagship and even some other mid-range phones:
  • No 5 GHz Wi-Fi (including 802.11ac)
  • No NFC
  • No quick charging (charges at 5V 2A max charge rate) micro-USB, not USB-C
  • No Gorilla Glass

Below is the list of Packages from 7X. ( identical to Mate SE, I assume )
You CAN disable most of Huawei app, but you can NOT disable most of Google apps.
If you know how adb works WITHOUT root, then, disable most of google app, revoke permission for most of background apps will sure make this phone very responsive.

I have no lag issue AT ALL. ( but again, I understand most people may not be too comfortable with this approach )

We are here worrying about China or made in China products spying/stealing our info. Yet we can't prevent Equifax and other US company data breach within the states.

Is the FBI still warning US citizens not to buy these as they may be leaking your info to China?

why is the battery NOT 4000mah!! Im used to longer battery life, everything else looks good to me
Show me a list of phones that come with 4000mah batteries?

I had no problems with micro usb either. My OPO charges overnight and I barely get down to 60% when I come to charge it again. And this is an old ass phone with many charge cycles...so I don't think I care.

This phone is $229 with an 82.9% screen to body ratio. I'm still on the original OPO with no complaints, so this phone is perfect for me (Android Auto, texting, etrade, banking, that's all I do on my phone. Why play games on a 5inch phone screen when I have a gaming rig at home?)

64gb internal makes the Mate SE much nicer to use the dual sim function. I'm currently sporting a ZTE with two sims and don't think I'm ever going back to a single sim phone. Never did like lugging 2 phones around.

I had a huawei ascend mate 2 once and it had a 4000mah battery. the huawei mate 9 and 10 both have 4000mah battery.
they did not have a replacement for the ascend mate 2 $180 - $250 phone so now I'm using a zte blade zmax pro with the 4050mah battery.
The long battery life helps when youre out and about. alternatively is to use a powerbank which I dont like.

Add the Moto E4 plus to the list too, 5000mah.
