Still available through price match with Office Depot as of 3/8 ~7pm MST!

Neato Things About This Printer
  • Good track record; Lasts forever.
Generic toner can be had for ~$6-8 per cartridge on ebay/amazon.
You can disable the Dell toner check to get more life out of the dell toner units.

Fails About This Printer
  • No Airprint (Apple device easy printing)
  • No auto-duplex printing
  • When using the printer with WIFI it will not wake from sleep. You have to power cycle it before wireless printing, or use wired Ethernet/USB for the sleep/wake function to work correctly.
Decent color printing, but not photo quality.

I use to repair LASER printers from Lexmark, and HP mostly those on domain network. Home/Business version are smaller to compare. I know LASER is a lot better than inkjets (cost wise) LASER requires FUSER where as the LED Array Printer doesn't require a FUSER to get heated up no DRUM or LASER. DELL makes both types. I got the LED one a few years back for $52 good deal at the time free FEDEx shipping. So the only thing you need to concern yourself with LED Printer is color toners to be replace. Print quality is second to none. Laser and LED are near match. LED will be cheaper to own and run over the LASER. Color vs MonoChrome, Color is often better than just black n white or grey. Still this printer you won't go wrong with it. DELL Laser or LED color printers are very well made. I prefer the LED over LASER. Color Toners fro both LED and LASER are the same.

I see someone mentioned the Brother Inkjet all-in-one those are great too. I own one and had the ADF (auto doc feeder) that's a plus if you can get that. Otherwise the without the ADF you have to manually. LASER uses a beam bounds off a mirror then fused on to the paper what is being printed. LED doesn't use all of that makes the process quicker. But again everyone has choice to pick what they want. To save Energy I use LED from DELL. This is good deal also from DELL and what the OP has posted. Color Toner can last years if you don't print heavy duty. Stock up the color toners while they're cheap to do so.

It's toner (dry powder) and not ink.

By the time it actually goes bad, your grandkids should of upgraded this ages ago.

Good price. I had an alert for this, but just bought a Brother inkjet AIO last week. In the alert's title, I put the best B&M price at the time of creating the alert, and it was $150.

This has "manual" duplex, which means you get a little help from the printer on how to flip and re-stack the printed one-sided odd pages before you print the even side pages.

How's the text quality on the brother inkjet? I've hated it (vs laser) in the past but hoping maybe they've improved.

Good deal on a very good printer. I've had this one for about 2.5-years and it works great! I paid $79.68 and have been using it over WiFi since day one. The things that make this printer so good are the print quality, the WiFi printing, and the ease of using aftermarket inexpensive non-Dell toner cartridges. I highly recommend this printer.

About how much $ do you pay for the aftermarket cartridges? Thanks!

My kids really want a color printer. We can't go laser because the ink always dries up when i get them. I'm considering this type because of price, but I go back and forth on the duplex. How complicated is it to put the paper back in and print the other side?
