I don't like Breitling at all but at least this watch has a manufacturer movement. At 44m x 53mm x 17mm, it's going to look ridiculous on your wrist unless your Arnold Schwarzenegger or The Rock.

50% off for Breitling is where I would start for pricing. I would consider this slick at < $4.8k.

Any leads on a rattrapante? I was about to pull the trigger at an AD but online prices are so tempting.

Most ADs I know who carry Breitling will quietly match the higher end of the grey market range. Don't bother with email as no AD will want it on writing somewhere. Place a call to an AD that has high volume so that they're more willing to negotiate.

Best of luck.

I thought the reason for buying luxury items is that you can afford it without any discount. If you buy these items on sale but not when you feel like buying something you want doesn't it make you as cheapo as the rest of the world?

Is Ashford an authorized dealer? If not, might want to look at Warranty and Repair Options on this. Breitling are meticulous about checking serial numbers on their watches and have a right to decline repairs for purchases from what they consider to be unauthorized points of sale.

I think it's hilarious when people like you will balk at buying luxury goods but not blink an eye when someone spends $4k on a gaming computer, or buying more than a Nissan Versa for a car.

Now to be frank, this watch is quite hideous and frankly a waste of cash to me, but that's purely on the merits of this watch. If this were a Glashutte Original PanoMaticLunar I'd be salivating. But those are $6-7k second hand.

On the opposite spectrum you can also try a small AD that may have dead stock that they need to move. Problem is selection will likely be limited.

Mr. Schwarzenegger wears a 55mm Laco Flieger, at least occasionally.

Fortunately you don't need to be either him or Mr. Johnson to wear a 44x53mm watch without it looking ridiculous. Anyone with a wrist larger than about 190mm could do it.

Nice discount on this piece, uses the B01 in-house movement instead of the standard valjoux 7753 for this subdial configuration. Just a bit flashy for my taste, but they do call it BreitBLING for a reason.

this watch epitomizes everything I hate about Breitling. big (esp the lug to lug), glashy, and i hate their engraved numbers on the bezel.
my hate for breitling is matched only by panerai.
