Would really appreciate comments on how this bike would fit a very casual rider. I would only go out a few times a year, just need something to keep up with my kids. I'm not expecting a high end racing bike at this price. I just don't want something that'll fall apart with light use. TIA!

Lowest on amazon has been $190. How good is this bike? Need it for 2 mile ride to class with small inclines.

You aren't aware of the infamous bike guys on Slickdeals are you?

To save you time, the responses you will get will be:

- spend more than $500+
- got to your lbs (local bike store)
- this bike is trash because of its price point

I'm just gonna grab my popcorn, sit on the side and watch.

Few times a year most anything will do.

Few times a month or rides longer than 10 miles I'd get something better.

As long as it's assembled and adjusted properly it'll be good for awhile. But the parts are cheap and will wear out quickly and go out of adjustment quickly.

I've had bikes from Walmart and bikes from bike shops, I'm not saying you have to go to a bike shop, but I will say there is a definite difference in comfort that comes from buying a properly fitted bike. If you don't want to deal with returns, I would go someplace where you can at least sit on the bike before buying. From the description this looks to only come in the medium size which may or may not be comfortable.

This bike is garbage, you'll end up putting another $100 in repairs before you know it.

Check out http://www.bikesdirect.com/ and spend the extra hundred to get something that fits you properly and will last you more than a year.

Edit: This bike would get the job done: http://www.bikesdirect.com/produc...oliday.htm

Those guys saying go to your local bike store must work at a bike store. That's where you go if you want to pay twice as much for a bike that's been on display for a couple years and may or may not have been assembled properly.

Quality is probably fine but If you're only riding a couple of times a year I would discourage this bike 4 u. You will not be accustom to, nor enjoy the extreme hunched-over position of a drop-bar racing bike which causes:
a.) your back to hurt
b.) your neck to hurt
c.) your butthole hurt and burn
d.) limited visibility(i.e. you have to have your head on a swivel as your natural head position is straight down)

Get a mountain bike, hybrid bike or anything that sits you up straight. Anything modern will be plenty fast unless your kids are training for the tour de france...
