Redbox Free Game Night Rental (1 Day Rental) - Program Runs from 3-6-2018 thru 3-12-2018 - *** RESERVE IN APP OR ONLINE ONLY **** - excludes game rentals directly @ the Kiosk --> you obviously pick up your In App or Online Rentals up at the kiosk. You just can't rent a free game with this promotion directly from Kiosks at least according to the terms and no one has reported otherwise.

Here is the LINK and the select* games included
http://www.redbox.com/marchgamesw...t:3:6:2018
Not every single game may be included so use the link to get to the page showing all the ones that are and click on the game you want from there. There are about 30 Games some console specific exclusives etc.
So hopefully if you game you can find one you'd like to try/play.
In the past you should be able to return and re-rent the next day, we'll know tomorrow whether that continues, but what you can't do is keep the game the whole time for free. You will be charged for each additional day you do not return the game AFTER the free 1 Day Rental.

RENTAL/RESERVATIONS Start the day you complete the transaction doesn't matter what time of day, that is DAY 1 and your FREE RENTAL is ALWAYS due back by 9PM On DAY 2 to avoid an additional charge
If you want to maximize your time with the game renting just after MIDNIGHT ~12:01 AM DAY 1 Your local time will give you close to 45 Hours to play before it's due back before 9PM DAY 2 .

If movies are your thing the PUSH text to 727272 code is either being newly discovered by some or it may have been reset. - EDIT looks like it's just being newly discovered but definitely worth a shot or with a new phone number etc.
Here is a thread for this in case it works for you as well for a movie rental:

I forgot to mention. Clicking from the list of Free Games to rent: (same link as above)
http://www.redbox.com/marchgamesw...t:3:6:2018

When you add the game to your cart it should say $0.00 (subtracts $3.00) for this promotion but for those few who may still have the OLD play pass style codes yet remaining on your account make sure on the checkout screen that you verify that it is NOT using one of your Play Pass codes. The new Perks point system is different and you have to (at this point) affirmatively tell it you want to spend points.
Runs 3-6-2018 (TODAY) through next Monday 3-12-2018.

Wow, I thought Free Game rentals saving $3 for each game that lasts all week long would have been a little more popular.
Yeah, not many can be finished in a day but it's a great way to try before you buy, especially when free.

Except for the devaluation of rentals/points, I like this new system in that I can choose to hold on to points until I really need them vs. having a rental (with an expiry) generated for me.

Only part of the new perks system is that you can't get points for free items - like ones in this promotion. Unless you have to actually hold onto the rental for more than a few minutes to get the points credit?? No $ outlay, no points.

I've been trying to figure this out for myself and gave up. I haven't had any paid rentals since the change, but I have received points for ~20% of my rentals. I don't know why I've gotten points the times I did but not others, but I'll try holding on to rentals for an hour or so (instead of catch and release) to kinda replicate the last time I got points.

Will report back.

Yes, I didn't elaborate about that part as I was already long winded in the OP & second post, but that is a positive step. Plus if you buy a lot of Blu-rays, games, or digital copies it's a nice plus.

I'm a nerd so I read through all the terms of service. The points do expire on a rolling basis one year after issued but really that shouldn't be a problem for anyone laugh out loud The account also has to have activity at least every six months or they remove them. Not a problem again for most but in cases of multiple accounts seldom used etc. it could be a minor issue.

So, I also have been trying to figure this out and had multi-quoted several posts in the main Redbox thread that asked about it as well.
I have received SOME points for free codes but not all of them. I can not figure out the rhythm or pattern. Sometimes they get credited correctly (at least I mean they match what I purchased) but other times 0. Sometimes it works for Reservations not picked up other times it does not.
They mention PAID rental in the terms a multiple times in different places for example:
" You'll get points per night for every paid rental."

But I cannot discern a working pattern. Although signing in at the kiosk seemed to give me better results but it didn't work every time. Our different accounts have very different PERKS transaction pages. For example using two different accounts from the same kiosk on the same day one right after the other with codes got different results. Some got points others didn't. Sometimes points took more than 48 hours to arrive other times they posted quickly.

I've noticed a similar issue with the number of rentals it records and ticks off the total number you need to maintain your current level (status). We rent our two main accounts almost identically 2 on Acct A - two on Acct B but the points awarded and the number of rentals subtracted by that number needed are very different.
EDIT: I'm hoping that I understand that part correctly as well. For example if you are Legandary status now in 2018 the T.O.S. say you are Legendary through at least the end of 2019. But I'm unsure if that counter resets every year or keeps ticking down. Because for example say it's December 28ths 2018 and I have 5 left to maintain LEGENDARY. If I wait until January 2nd 2019 to complete those last five (if the counter doesn't reset) that should mean I'd be Legendary through 2019 then and 2020. If the counter resets, and I can't find any affirmative language either way, then that would be a bummer.

P.S. just logged into an account and all my transaction data is missing. My Perks points are still there but my entire 90 day history is gone, at least the Perks data is still there but it's harder now to cross check things (hope it is temporary).

Sweet, looks like I get to try shadow of the colossus.

I tried the ps3 remaster but the controls were so bad and perhaps the visuals weren't good enough for me to figure something out, so I quit on the first colossus. Now I'll know if this is worth buying cheap later
