Probably a price adjustment in response to the $99.99 Winix C535 at Costco.

Here is what one reviewer at Costco has to say about the two models:

"5500-2. Black color. Includes remote control. 4 stage filtration. Includes 1 hepa filter (replace ~yearly) and, instead of 4 disposable carbon filters, includes 1 washable carbon filter that must be cleaned every 3 months and replaced ~yearly. Replacement filter set H/116130 costs $60.

C535. White color. Includes remote control. 4 stage filtration. Ships with 2 hepa filters (you install only one of them, reserving the second filter for year 2) and 8 disposable carbon filters. Replacement filter set A/115115 costs $45."

This 5300-2 carbon colored one is much better. It is much more quite and seems to work much better at collecting dust. I get a new one or two...every year with deals like this and my energy company sends me $50 rebate on up to 2 a year. Worth it to me considering filters cost 50 to 60
