I don't understand how this is getting so little traction compared to the netgear deal. Maybe because it's refurbished?

If you are really interested, go grab the AC3100 instead of AC3200. It has better spec.

Would be all over this at the current $125 price if it had aiMesh. Bummer.

Repped anyway.

I live in an apartment, so 1 router should cover the whole place pretty well and I don't need aimesh. Is it still worth it?

Why is that?

Why is that?
The 3100-class routers generally are 4x4 streams, but dual band, only one 5GHz and 2.4Ghz each. The 3200 is 3x3 streams, but tri-band (two 5GHz). Depending on your usage, the 4x4 can be potentially faster, but you need a 4x4 client, which AFAIK there's only one Asus PCIe adapter, or use another 4x4 router as a bridge. The vast majority of mobile devices, including laptops, are only 2x2. If you're using AiMesh the tri-band can be more useful cause it can dedicate one of the 5GHz bands as backhaul, similarly to what the Netgear Orbi does. Bear in mind that I'm not sure if the RT-AC3200 supports AiMesh yet, I'm talking general terms.
