It says there's a separate app but i'm hoping that it'll integrate into smartthings.

EDIT: Read the reviews. there is a firmware update that connects these to Smartthings! Sweet!

I guess the followup question is does it do anything in terms of integration with Smartthings?

There are mixed reviews on the usefulness of it and lack of integration.

I have these cam. It can connect to smart thing so you can live view it. That's it. Anything else need to use it own app.

I use this cam and the SmartThings "Smart Home Monitor" where, if a (separate) motion sensor is triggered, a 30 second video from a camera of my choosing is loaded into the SmartThings Security portion of the app (within SmartThings, the camera can not be the motion sensor.)
You can also use the SmartCam app and Samsung SmartCam website where you have other options for the camera itself monitoring motion and alerting you to it.

i'd wait for the annke cubes to be on sale again for $50 shipped
they are the same specs plus IR, and annke works with hikvision
which is the major industry leader in surveillance equipment,
so the software configuration potential is far better.

I think it's in the works. Bonus about wyzecam is 14 day cloud storage. Con - video may be diverted to china.

yes, that's the only way you can set up Samsung Cam with Smarthing. But that defeat the whole purpose of buying a Samsung brand cam in hope that it integrated completely with smarthing. You can do your type of set up with just about any brand of cam (cam in the smarthing list ofcouse)

For cam OUTSIDE the house, free cloud storage is a plus. For cam INSIDE the house, it might not be a good thing.

All cams INSIDE my house, I only put in a 1gb card so that it only keep about 5 days worth of video. I want to put in a smaller card to only keep 2 days worth of video, but it's hard to find any card smaller than 1gb nowaday.

Think about it. The only time you need a copy of the video is when something happen at the house. You call the cop, they want a copy of the video. Maybe one day before and video the incident day. Now, if you might did something shaddy in your house. Maybe pointing a gun at your wife's head 3 days ago during an argument. when they get the memory card from you, all those video going to be there and might be bad for you.

Ofcouse, there will be one wise guy in this forum going to say: "I'm not stupid, I'm going to delete all other video before turn in the incident video". Yah right !! when the cops there, they will ask for the video. Most of you will turn in the card right there and then. Are you going to be in the right mind to tell the cop that you going to turn in the video tomorrow? NOO !!! you going to be freak out...the cop want to collect the evident right there so they don't have to make a second trip to your damn house...etc....so most of the time, you going to pop out the memory card and give the cop right there.

So think about it !!! all cam INSIDE your house should only save 3 days worth of video, NO MORE than that !!! maybe 2 days is best !!!
