Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Charging Grip (Generic) - $9.99 + S&H [zapals.com]

I was looking around for Joy-Con chargers and stumbled upon Zapals selling a generic Joy-Con Charging Grip for $9.99. While it's pretty obviously a site that sells stuff direct from China and I know some of you are probably not comfortable with that, the design ultimately is still just a plastic grip with an embedded USB-C charge port. From the photo, the design appears to be near identical to the official one which costs $28.51 [amazon.com], it just doesn't have the Nintendo switch logo.

S&H was $3.42 for regular non-tracking (7-45 days) and $4.39 for regular w tracking (7-15 days).

I'm in no hurry and for a relatively simple device I thought it was worth the risk and bought one. 2 of my joy-cons are attached to the console, the other two can charge in this thing. The joy-con charging docks [amazon.com] cost about as much as this one, but now you'd have two grips to use instead of just the one that comes with the switch. Thought I'd share if anyone else might be of a similar mindset.

Do people really enjoy using the grips? I use the pro controller whenever possible, and the joy cons without the grip when I need to. What's the use case for the grip?

Bought a comfort, non-charging grip for about $7 off Amazon in January that I feel is adequate. Don't think I can bring myself to get the pro controller due to the $60-70 price tag.

If you don't want to spend the money for a pro controller, there are adapters for the switch that can accommodate the Dualshock 4 or Xbox One controllers on the switch. They're cheap and rumble plus motion controls work with the DS4

Ah interesting. Can you share us the link of the suggested adapter for us to look into?

He is most likely talking about the Mayflash NS. I bought one from Amazon but lasted 2 weeks. Had to return for refund. Not sure about buying again due the build quality. Might be better to just wait for the pro controller to go on sale.

Oh ok. Well let me ask you this: is the pro controller really worth buying comparing to joy cons? I have big hands and I haven't experiencing any cramps or tension on my fingers when using the joycon. Not that it ergonomic but i just can't understand the popularity of the pro controller 😐.

For people who don't want to pay the absurd costs of the controller. At least the joy con can be detached for flexibility with this grip and it's about the same costs - except you're technically getting 2 controllers and you should buy it in one of the awesome neon colors to be cooler.

I get that (kind of), I'm just thinking that I prefer to hold the joy cons separately vs. in the grip. I realize that my preference may not be everyone's preference.

I don't dislike it? It's better than joy-con alone (or maybe I'm just used to the standard controller feel) but I'm sure the pro controller is probably better. I don't have one of those yet though because of the $$. In this case, I posted this because you can basically get grip and charger in one for less than the price of a charger. So really to me it's a cheap charger for 2 joy-cons that happens to also be a grip, since right now I have 4 joy-cons and only the switch itself to charge with. If I bought a charging stand, sure I could put all 4 joy-cons on it but I can already charge 2 right on the switch itself. I'm not expecting to need 6 or 8 joy-cons... or should I be?

Not sure where you're seeing that? The very top link (for this deal) indicates Zapals. The Amazon links come from my comparison links.
edit: maybe you were seeing secondary store links? Seems the original post added Amazon as a store automatically. Primary was still designated as Zapals though. I took Amazon off anyway for you.

Should've used that 30% Google Express promo. I paid $55 total after CA tax. anyways I do also enjoy using the grips, the pro control is light years better tho.

I like the generic controller feel, so for me I'll prolly get the pro controller if it goes down to $50. This grip is cool though, as u can joy cons, while playing (and not being on tablet mode)

It's for people who don't or can't buy the expensive pro controller, but still want a generic controller feel, which I like the concept of, but will buy the pro controller ASAP. I am a huge fan of the Wii U pro controller, and the Switch one is the way to go for Super Smash Bros, Mario Odyssey, MK8, and pretty much any Switch Game

I get that. I just vastly prefer the pro controller, and even if I didnt have it, I would just use the joy cons without the grip. Obviously not everyone agrees.
