I got a similar priced deal on last year's model (OLED55C6) back in June and absolutely love it. The image is great, the design is very nice, and the LG smart TV OS is actually pretty solid as well. I don't use it much now that I have a Chromecast Ultra; prior to that it was my go to for using streaming services.

electronic rebates also has extra cashback on eBay today.

Only complaint would be that the TV internal speakers aren't amazing, but who wants to rely on those anyways! Pair this with an LG SJ8 or SJ9 soundbar for a quick and cost-effective setup.

That's not going to happen in a couple of months. On the contrary you'd be paying a lot more if you wait that long.

It's been available around $1600 multiple times since November if using price protection- otherwise around 1800 is as cheap as its been, or likely to get.

It's still available for $2099 from Greentoe (cheaper from Frys if you have access to one, until they run out of em). Then use price protection to take that down further while you still can.

The 2018s hit stores this month (at much higher prices) so the cheap '17s will be gone entirely soon- and the price protection sites prices usually shoot up right near the end too.

Good price but for about the same money, I'd recommend getting the B7A which is a 2017 model (C6 is 2016) and the entire LG 2017 model lineup had fairly significant improvements. Also. you're going to get more firmware updates from LG.
The only edge I'm aware of is possibly 3D... which I'm not going to be dismissive about but trust that if you you're not a dedicated believer in 3D yet then don't invest now or lock yourself into a TV for that one functionality.

Here's a link to a side by side comparison of the C6 and B7A:

Good write up. Rep given. You're absolutely right about the internal speakers and this has been the case for me too with all of the TVs with this design obsession of no bezel.

I get that bezel-less is a bit sexier and modern looking in design, but for me, I matured long, long ago in believing that skinnier is better than having some curves to hold onto... avoiding the obvious innuendo, the first time I tried to pull a micro bezel TV out of the box trying my damnedest from damaging the screen by squeezing it, I was over it as it was a butt pucker experience till I got it mounted on the wall.

There's only so much algorithms and post processing can do to make up for what built in speakers suffer in going on this insane diet and, while I did plan on adding a sound system anyways, I did have to cup my head in my hands and rock a little when I heard for the first time the speakers in a $3,000 MSRP 2017 TV compared to the sound quality of the 2013 HDTV it was replacing... I would have almost preferred that they just not bother at all with speakers on it, much like they do with most computer monitors, and just used that area for some built in grips for the love of God LMAO

It was so bad that I went ahead and jerry rigged an old $30 Nakamichi soundbar (pretty sure they're a Sears only brand) which I had to mount right below the TV... and the irony of how goddamn terrible this "sleek" bezel-less TV looked with chunky black sound bar mounted temporarily below every time I walked by was not lost on me lol

Rep given. Right you are and I removed my post in case of any confusion. My mistake.
I saw the post where the other member was discussing his C6P that was like this deal and recommending anyone who buys it to get a sound bar and thought he meant he had the same model as this thread and was confused.

I missed that deal, but I am not in a rush, I can wait couple more months for 65" to go below $1500. I'll be so happy when I see 65" OLEDS less than $1500 price point.

What made you get a ultra if it has smart features built in? Or does it not have that?

I have a C6. I got an Ultra because the native Youtube app does not display HDR for some reason. It does 4k, but not HDR. With the Chromecast ultra, it can play HDR content. Also, the built in app for casting is a little hit or miss. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The Chromecast is much more reliable for casting.

I use the built in apps for Netflix and Amazon all the time though.

Are you soon why I got an ultra over a regular chromecast? Ultra for 4k and wired ethernet.
