I personally don't care for the laser. It's just one more thing to calibrate. I always physically lower the blade to line it up with my piece before engaging the saw to make the cut anyway, with or without a laser.

Agree with the other guy. There are many other ways to make more accurate cuts than using a laser. It's a cheap gimmick you can do without.

For someone that needs a miter saw for light use, how do you feel about this one? Was going to invest more into a DeWalt as i liked the angle set points/locking mechanism.

Yeah, I agree with you but the misses uses the saw and prefers the laser.
