Asus Certified RT-AC1900P $28 (RT-AC68U)

Ebay has pulled this auction.

No seller history, so use a credit card. Says "Brand New" , but certified to me indicates refurb.

Wow, this is a barn burner of a deal if the routers are really either new or even if they're Asus certified.

This is essentially the same router as the RT-ac68p, with somewhat better processor/memory specs. Uses the same firmware. Can be used with AIMesh.

I'd recommend buying a few at this price.

Mesh networking:

This makes it like the recent expensive router systems that promise strong continuous Internet throughout your home using multiple routers. But at a fraction of the cost.

On top of the RT-AC1900P being one of the best routers available.

This looks like a great deal. If I had known about AiMesh before, I wouldn't have sold mine and bought the Netgear Orbi for much more. AiMesh is Asus technology that allows a bunch of these units to work aimlessly together, similar to other more expensive mesh network routers out there.

Not sure what you mean by seller history, but he has 100% feeback. Nevermind, I see what you mean. All his feedback is based on buying, but it's relatively safe with CC through eBay.

Why are there two models? RT-AC1900P and in parenthesis RT-AC68U?

RT-AC1900P can be flashed with RT-AC68U firmware since they are identical hardware wise.

EDIT: Sorry, I think I am not right as this one RT-AC1900P is NOT the same as AC1900 (for T-mobile) which I am used to seeing. From what I can see, hardware wise, this should be equivalent but it is sold exclusively by Best Buy ONLY. I don't know whether the firmware for this router is getting updated regularly like other ASUS routers nor does this have it's own AIMESH firmware or need to be flashed to be AC68U firmware to do so.

EDIT v2: Looks like this is hacked account or something. There is NO seller feedback at all for this seller and all of sudden he has 10s of these to sell (already sold close to 30 of these). Odd. I am guessing you will be covered by ebay/paypal but tread lightly.

The AC1900P is essentially the next iteration of the AC68U/P. It has somewhat better specs, but the same architecture (and uses the same firmware).

Honestly, EITHER would be a steal for $28.

This isn't the type of item that scam sellers usually offer (they usually deal in hot stuff like computers, etc.). But if it is a scam, you're covered both by eBay and PayPal.

Something's fishy. Seller's 100% feedback is all as a buyer.

Other than that - remember if the price is too low, something's wrong. Even the TM-AC1900 refurbs are twice this price, and they need lot's of work to be converted to a RT-68P.

The AC1900 takes the same firmware as the AC68 and it supports AIMesh.

It happen to me once. They will use your shipping address and buy something overseas and send it to you. You have to return the item inorder to get your money back. If you file item not received you will automatically loose the ebay case because there is a tracking number and it showed its delivered.

Good Luck. i have reported this item to ebay.
