Its important to note this is sold and shipped by amazon which has several advantages, not the least of which is that returns are a breeze.

not a big fan for HP. Since this brand sucks. Will go for Asus Acer or alienware. Last time these have on sale like around $850
Also holding out for an alienware, i want that IPS panel and the higher refresh (not that my 1080 can handle it right now). This retails higher than the acer though. Is there a reason acer is considered better?

AW3418DW right? I have it. I pair mine with asus strix 1080, i7-7700K, 16GB RAM and I get 60fps in battlefield 1 easily.

Same here.

I put it on alert.

I would pay up to $1000 flat.

You'll have to play around in settings to get solid 60fps but in general your specs should be able to handle modern games just fine.

Thanks for the tip. Do you at all feel the disadvantage of playing competitive games, like Battlefield 1, with a slower refresh rate? Ive never been a competitive gamer but i do like to play some fps like CSGO, Overwatch, etc. The way some people describe it, unless i have 144hz, ill just be canon fodder.
