Costco in store T-Mobile s9 for $363.6 after s7 trade + $308 prepaid master + $52 bill credit YMMV

Potential s9 for 363.60 total

Just came back from a local (Missouri) Costco.
They're selling an s9 for $670 outright (plus tax) with the possibility of getting it much lower.

Here are the details
Only available in Lilac purple in my area so YMMV

extended to March 22
http://membershipwireless.com/content/offer8
  • Buy the s9 outright for 670 + 53.60 (8% tax) = 723.60
    • New or existing line
    • No sim or activation charge
  • Then trade in an s7 (gets the highest pre paid master card I believe) - trade in through t-mobile directly
    • s7 gets 308 as a pre-paid master card + $52 bill credit
  • wait 4 months for the Prepaid master card to come in the mail
  • enjoy your new s9
723.60 - 308 - 52 = Total 363.60

I thought it would help give another option to SDers rather than just Samsung (or carriers)

S9 Plus for $790 before taxes
860 - 308 - 52 = 500 tax included

Samsung Direct Purchase vs Costco
  • With this deal you don't have to do unidays or .edu discount (no cashback needed either)
  • So, if that unidays or. edu thing bothers you and you want to keep your conscience clear, Costco might be the way to go
  • No need to deal with Samsung's disastrous trade in (and worry about rejection)
  • peace of mind with 90 days Costco return policy (one of the best around).
  • double dip
    1. Earn cash back on your Costco citi anywhere visa
    2. Costco gives cash back at the end of the year (February). For those who may have just gotten their cash back, would be the best time to use these certificates towards the phone. (yes you can pay off the device with Costco cashback certificates
  • Pre-Orders for Samsung.com orders have already started moving. So, they can't be cancelled through the website for some, including myself. we'll have to call their e-commerce phone number at 1855.726.8721 and (hopefully be able to) cancel manually.
    • Update: was told it can't be cancelled now, but once it ships I can call the shipper and ask to return the phone to sender. Can also do that after receiving phone
  • NOTE: Costco (might be locally) policy:
    • If you ever had 10 lines that you cancelled (ie bogo deals in the past) you cannot get this. I was rejected by Costco because I had 10+ lines for different promotions and was told this is a Costco policy. (These lines were not active but still show up in Costco/tmobile system)
    • Went to another costco and pre-order and pickup both went without a breeze
After purchasing from Costco apply for a rebate direct on t-mobile rebates page using promo code C18SAMTRADE

No bill credit over 2 years and trade in values are better for certain phones. Additionally, this support doc says it'll be valid in store for launch day too

yeah I don't get it. This is arguably one of the best deals for the S9/S9+. No bill credit over 2 years and trade in values are better for certain phones. Additionally, this support doc says it'll be valid in store for launch day too https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-36951

I did the same deal earlier this week. I also have an s7 that I will trade in and and getting $360 back is far more than you can get ever selling it. People are giving thumbs down just because unless the phone is free its not a slickdeal lol

Pre-order straight from Samsung cost me about $20 more but I don't have to deal with MasterCard rebate but I do have to deal with Samsung trade in.

Yes for t-mobile phones from costco all phones have to be paid in full (as far as pre paid gift card promotions are concerned)

Got the BOGO from costco for note 8 and had to pay upfront for both phones
