They jacked their prices this year, tricked people with model numbers compared to 2016, and lowered what you got price wise. It's edge lit and has a low color gamut comparatively. I'm saying all this and I'm a Samsung fanboy. Be careful in 2018 because I caught them doing the same model number trick as their 8 series is going to be 60 hertz when for the last 2 years (at least) it has 120Hz.

Edit: Samsung has updated their website. The 2018 NU8000 will be true 120Hz (motion rate 240).

If I was you I'd make sure to get a TV with a true 10-Bit color panel & WCG for 100% full HDR10 playback. Especially if your gonna wait a lot of years in-between big screen TV purchases.

You wanna make sure that you're future proofed before making a decision on a big purchase. Also, 4K UHD alone isn't that big of a picture quality upgrade in my opinion, unless your sitting no further than 8' away from a 65 incher.

But with a true 4K HDR TV, you'll be blown away at how stunning it looks. At least that's been my experience with both my Samsung 55MU6290 & TCL 55S405 that have 8-Bit color panels compared to my LG OLED65C6P that has 10-Bit color with WCG.

The fact that I have perfect black levels with OLED also helps. The only thing in my opinion that comes close to OLED, is a 4K HDR Smart TV with a Quantum Dot, Full Array Backlight combination.

Preferably one with at least 100+ Active LED Zones for deeper black levels.

The Sony 65X900E. Much better specs. True 10-Bit color & I think the X900E series has Full Array Backlight.
