My friend uses this and it buffers like crazy after 8pm despite having a 100MBPS connection! Definitely the DirectTVNow because everything else works fine.

Yeah I experience the same problem, Vue has less issues but I like the channel lineup, it is quite intermittent. I am on a FiOS gigabit plan. I think it is due to the 1080 stream quality it tries to stay dedicated to.

I want to like it but I can't. It buffers and loses HD picture quality way too often even with 150mpbs. I'm back to wired cable so I can enjoy HD all the time.

Did the ATV deal in December. Have been living with the service for a couple months and have not been impressed. We have 75Mbps internet but routinely see the picture degrade to a fuzzy mess. I'm talking so bad that SD content upscaled to 4k is significantly better. Of course, when the stream is solid, it looks fantastic. But it's too inconsistent and seems to be getting worse as the service adds new subs with the ATV deal. Will try my luck with another service in the near future.

there are so many complaints without mention of the hardware. I know location matters, if your market is saturated or under served. But there are some weak sticks out there that don't perform well. DTVN app is a hog, there is a FTV 4K deal on FP so try that and see how it goes. I'm lucky, all my platforms are working great. Some buffer on beta but only occasionally over FTV, Roku and Chrome, all hard wired.

Yes this is a repost but a good deal if you don't need the bundled ATV or FTV.

I have a 150mbps connection and notice my network speed is slower during prime time viewing hours in evening too. If it's at peak viewing times it's likely primarily because too many people on the internet provider's network are using bandwidth. Then a secondary issue could be that DTV does not optimize well to reduce streaming bitrate to compensate for a connection that has slowed down.

It's some sort of setting from DirecTV and it's trigger at exactly 8pm EST sharp every day. I'm a server administrator and have been using the internet since 1990. All the testing I did determine it was 100% on from DirectTV. Many other people report the same thing- https://forums.att.com/t5/DIRECTV...rue#M17103

I use SlingTV and it works fine, so this service is just terrible.

Some guy posted in the Fire TV deal thread that he has AT&T U-verse and he has no buffering issues and that rest of us having buffering issues due to our collective shitty internet connections. What a dumb****.

This is what happens without Net Neutrality.

I have had DTV Now since release and haven't had any buffering issues. It is noticably better than Sling TV for sure.
