If you can wait out on the shipping, these can be had on AliExpress for $1.45

Good information. Thank you. Have you bought them from AliExpress, and how is the quality/fit?

Yeah, the fit is good, just a tiny bit loose but it might be because of my cast iron. It def helps reduce the heat but if the cast iron gets way too hot, heat does pass through and sometimes it's a bit too hot to touch. The quality and feel is probably the same as the one linked here. It looks the same minus the logo in the middle. Mines came without a logo so it might be produced in the same factory as this but this is white labeled

Thank you. Appreciate the info. BTW, I see a number of vendors on AliExpress selling basically the same handle. Who did you get yours from?

Just fyi, I have this and it's ....okay. It's not going to stay cool so do not assume you can just handle it with no oven mitts. You still need to use mitts.

also, I don't recommend putting it in the oven.

Overall this is a must have for the skillet imo, i
just know it's not a miracle product

Why not just use a mitt or pot holder by itself, then? That always worked just fine for me. I mean, I've never used one of these handles so I may be missing something, but I'm not seeing how it could be useful.

That's why I've always skipped on these. I bought some high heat resistant ones from a chef supply store and use those with my cast iron.

I have a couple of these and never use them. If you bake with your pan these don't work well because they don't slip on easy.
