I believe I have one of these. It has helped when my car needed a jump... So I can recommend it, especially for this price. I probably paid 35-45 for mine.

... But I don't believe it can charge the battery. Anyone know any good products for that, that would work portably?

Why all the thumb downs? Fake reviews? Bad product?

About a year ago, Frys had a promo code deal for a 200A jump starter, 10K maH, for $20.

Only one I've seen that charges from a USB 5V input as well as 15V AC adapter.

I've used it several times to jump start my car.

I purchased this unit on Friday and got same day delivery. The unit arrived charged to approx. 75% (3 bars). I plugged it in to charge until the 4th light was lit up solid (100% charged). The next morning I went out to test it on a vehicle with a dead (and I mean DEAD battery)! Plugged in the clamps, held the button down on the battery clamp adapter until it turned solid green, then proceeded to start the car. To my surprise the vehicle started right up! I used it to start the same vehicle with the completely dead batter 3 more times and it's still showing 4 green bars on the battery indicator of this jump starter! I can't speak to longevity, but this is hands-down worth $29.99!! This unit is exactly what I was looking for to avoid fooling around with jumper cables!

I think we both know what the (lack of) post count and exclamation points say about who was behind the "glowing" remarks Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Not quite.. I just didn't think it would start a vehicle with a completely dead battery (ie: one that won't even take a charge from a battery charger)!

I ordered one. I'm going to give it a try. Since I have a camry hybrid I can't use it to jump start our van when someone leaves a light on and forgets to turn it off !!

We have AAA but already used it 2-3 times. I believe there is a limit on how many times you can use them in a certain period.

Anyways, I need one of these things since like I mentioned I have a camry hybrid and you can't use it to jump start another vehicle.

Thanks OP. I had a deal alert for one of these things and the specs and price point (with coupon) convinced me to give this one a try. If it doesn't work then it will go back to amazon.
