That's correct (link to the product on Amazon [amazon.com]). One main difference is that whereas the Newegg one is sold directly by Newegg, the Amazon one is sold by a third-party merchant, MTRLC LLC.

Same price on Walmart and B&H

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Motorol.../364453318

Newegg specs claims it to support upto 246mbps, but Walmart - upto 300.
A 24x8 supports only upto 300 mbps download speed?

The Newegg deal is nice since they don't charge tax in most places, but seeing how Newegg now just willingly hands over user purchase data without a subpoena to the IRS, is a little unnerving. Any state can just go to Newegg and ask for your purchase history and Newegg will just roll and hand it over. For example Connecticut. I'm from NY myself, but will be limiting my Newegg purchases.

Newegg denied me an RMA and made me waste my money shipping the item to them.

So now I have a vendetta against them. They are not a friendly company to customers and when I wrote a negative review on the product they even deleted it!

So beware newegg and if you can get product at same price elsewhere than you may as well do it so that you wont have to deal with their rude agents

Correct me if I'm wrong, but going by replies from past cable modem threads, 24x8 is overkill for a majority of people. Also DOCSIS 3.0 is a couple version old now, although that may be plenty for a majority too.

I have been anxious to try a Zoom made, Motorola badged modem like this, as the Arris/Motorola Surfboard modems have had so many problems.

Newegg has been good to me in the last year. One was a 1080 Ti that wasn't returnable, they gave me credit. For a Logitech gaming keyboard I decided not to keep and was unopen, they paid for return shipping even though they didn't have to. Going to make use of my remaining credit balance to get this.

That is based on channels, but original download support is much lesser than what the channel supports. Eg: I had a 8x4 channel modem earlier, it was supporting 100mbps, when Comcast upgraded my speed recently I was only getting 113mbps from the modem, though 8x4 modem spec says it supports upto 340mbps, Comcast said my modem is not supported by them and I bought a new one 16x4, which says it supports 650odd, but max speed I could get is 300.

So I too have the doubt on what the modem specs suggests as it supports.

Any point of this if you have <1000mbps down? My OG Motorola SB6121 4x4 does fine for my 50Mbps down 10Mbps Up plan. Cheaper thing for me would be to just upgarde to the 6141 which does 8x8.
