The only question is what deal is better, this one or the Alienware from Best Buy (that I have picked up and have liked so far for $1150), but the extended warranty, more ram and included SSD makes this one very tempting.

got my confirmation email. If you purchase with the costco visa, warranty is for FOUR years. has anyone ever burned out a video card assuming no overclocking or changes to fan speed?

I got both, returned this one and kept the Alienware.

Hardware value wise, the specs on this one is pretty good and beats most of the deals in the past few weeks in my opinion.

To me, these two are more powerful than I needed, so the extra ram+SSD don't add much value; me and my girlfriend both think that the Alienware looks much better than the Predator. All Citi cards offer 2 year extended warranty, the difference is really 1 yr.

I've been using the Alienware for a while now and I like it a lot, but this Predator is also a solid option and great deal with Costco's customer service.

In for 1. Been wanting a new gaming rig for a while and been waiting for that perfect "best bang for your buck" moment. The parts when pieced out cost more than the rig. The lack of an M.2 slot is a downer but an i7 7700 with a gtx 1070 and 32 GBs of ram will max out my "lame" 1080p gaming for a long time. I can pull the parts and drop them into an updated board and case that has an M.2 expansion and still come out ahead over time. Plus the 4 year warranty is a big plus along with shipping to the Costco warehouse which is free shipping.

I look forward to my new rig!

Agreed. I'd have loved to build my own but these video card prices are ridiculous and I'm tired of waiting for the prices to come down.

I've been looking at Alienware desktops for a while but haven't seen any (with good specs) at the <$1300 level even on eBay. Certainly didn't see anything at BestBuy. Any tips?

Is this cheaper than building one comparable by yourself?

I guarantee you the hoops Citi will make you jump through before they honor their warranty program is far greater than walking into Costco with your receipt.
