Is this primarily used to toggle between 2 displays? Most displays have multiple hdmi ports that you can just switch inputs on, so trying to think of a reason someone would need to toggle multiple devices on one display (unless all ports were used up).

Looks like it's for getting more ports. My TV only has 2 ports and this would make it easier to switch bw Fire Stick and Ps4 while other port is used for Cable box.

After clicking the link, I noticed below "Sponsored products related to this item" and I see several other two and three-port switches stating similar features at similar prices. I have no idea if any of them are very good or not, but it just seems that this one in particular isn't that big of a deal.

OP, what makes you think this one is such a great deal?

I have two surround sound systems/AVR's in my basement. One drives a theater room with a projector and 7.2 surround, the other drives a bedroom with a 65" 4K TV and 5.1 surround. The receivers are physically located about 15 feet from each other, I've been toying with the idea of getting a switch so that I could connect my Nvidia Shield TV to both receivers, and just hit a button if I wanted to switch the output to the other room.

This looks like it will work perfectly and I won't lose 4K. Thanks OP.
