Per the description: "Two mesh side pockets can store a water bottle, mini tripod, gloves, or other items."

Per a review on Amazon for this backpack, it really would not hold a tripod. "Mini tripod" should really be translated to table-top sized (no taller than a water bottle in height)

In my opinion, if you were to wear a backpack, might as well wear a good size backpack for other items as well.

I have the larger version of this backpack (BP 250 AW II) that I used on an Asia trip several years ago. It's a good bag in terms of materials, construction, comfort, aesthetics, and security (since the camera compartment is only accessible from the back). However, the security also meant I switched cameras/lenses far less than I thought I would because it requires taking off the bag. I kind of wish Lowepro made a backpack with the same design aesthetic but with side access to the camera compartment. I switched to a Think Tank Retrospective 5 messenger-style bag for easier access while walking around.

I have a messenger bag style and the flappy lid gets in the way enough that it is preferable to put it down to rummage through it.

Will this fit a large DSLR with battery grip attached? It looks like the 250 can for sure, but I can't tell how large the 150's storage box is. They don't list any dimensions...

The side pockets hold my small Sony VCT-R100 travel tripod just fine but I would not recommend anything larger.

Per a B&H reviewer, it's not deep enough for a battery grip. And, looking at the pictures, there is no high-side cinch strap or loop to secure a monopod with the ballhead inserted into the pocket. A really nice looking pack at a great price, but those two faults kill it for me.
