Cmon, 1700 was just 200 bucks. They still have to clear inventory for next month...it's not a SD at this point in time. 1700 will drop, again. Others are being marked down, too (1950x is 730).

This is true, i was able to pricematch to staples at $199 Friday March 10th, but it seems the Ryzen 1700 is back up at $229.

None of it matters for home users, literally. If this is real the machines would already need to be compromised to do these attacks and mostly applicable to server.

Sounds more like an attack by intel to me (yes, even if these vulnerabilities are true). Intel is going to lose server market share and they're gonna lose their minds. They're taking a beating in desktop right now. Their server CPUs are crap. Also, nice timing with the refresh launching next month...

And new reporting says the vulnerabilities are mostly made up. Shocker. It also comes from 3 people no one's heard of before LOL. Do the math on how shady this is.

Here's a nice overview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZ7H1WTqaeo

Not a shred of evidence was included. And if you read the disclaimers on their websites, they don't claim anything said to be true, just their opinion and THEY HAVE INTEREST IN FINANCIALS lol. This an attempt at market manipulation.

Had you watched the video I linked, you would know that this is at least 90% bullshit. You can attack any computer that you have access to. You can say the exact same thing about Intel, VIA, or ARM chips. It's like me saying I can hack your windows password if I'm sitting at your desk...well, no shit.

There's nothing wrong pointing out flaws, obviously. But this was so amatuerish, over-hyped, written as some mega security issue like meltdown, but in reality is little more than info that can be passed on directly to AMD and ASmedia without media reports.
